Popularly known as the Makati Weekend Market or the sosy (local slang for upscale) market, this once-a-week event started out as a simple neighbourhood get-together for local residents. Today, people come from far and wide to feast on a variety of excellent home-made fare – from rich paellas, succulent grilled liempo (grilled pork belly), healthy vegetarian rolls to local sweets and desserts. Local organic produce is also available.

The markets open at 7:00 am and closes at 2:00 pm on Saturdays (Salcedo Market) and Sundays (Legaspi Market) only.

The only speakeasy in town, Blind Pig serves up strong, quality drinks done the old- fashioned way. Keeping to its 1920s prohibition-era theme, there is no name or sign on the door and customers have to ring the doorbell to gain access to this seductive, dimly lit hidden gem.

This quaint and cosy restaurant tucked away in Makati is one of the best places to indulge in hearty, authentic Italian cuisine. Here, food and wine lovers can enjoy home-style dishes such as carpaccio, antipasti, salads, freshly made pastas, tempting desserts and a fine selection of international wines.

People’s Palace offers modern Thai cuisine in a chic, modern Asian setting. The menu includes classic dishes such as phad Thai or catfish and green mango salad, alongside more innovative and contemporary takes on Thai cuisine. The delicious pomelo, prawn and coconut salad is the most popular item on the menu.
