The Peninsula Manila Launches Its Short Film
Prominent businessmen, media practitioners, diplomats and socialites cooled off on a balmy summer night on March 7, 2013 at an elegant pool party at The Peninsula Manila to celebrate the world premiere of “Peninsula Moments”, a print and short film campaign that showcased not just The Peninsula Manila but the beauty and rich history of the Philippines and its people.

Guests refreshed themselves with overflowing Champagne and cocktails by the pool, while appreciating the creative vision of world-renowned film director Jean Claude Thibaut of Ridley Scott and Associates and celebrity photographer Russel Wong.

They delighted in seeing the hotel’s version of the Philippine jeepney resplendent in chrome and Peninsula Brewster green driving around the various historic sights of Manila, were awed by the beauty of Laguna de Bay – the largest freshwater lake in the Philippines – and were captivated with Villa Escudero, a coconut plantation three hours from Manila which was the setting for a romantic Champagne picnic on a bamboo raft in the middle of a man-made lake.

Another highlight were The Peninsula Manila General Manager Sonja Vodusek’s little companions who accompanied her on her walk up the stage that was built over the pool. She was escorted not by your regular Peninsula pages, but by the children of employees and the hotel’s regular patrons dressed in iconic page uniforms.  The showstopping junior pages basked in the spotlight as the media and guests had a field day snapping photos and tweeting about them.

During her speech, Ms. Vodusek also thanked all of the hotel’s loyal friends, partners and patrons who have been part of the hotel’s 37-year history and shared in its most important moments.
